Working on future projects…

Sup, readers!

I have been working on a new collection, as I promised. I’m hoping to show it off in the Summer. I also recently had the chance to sort through all my fabric and am really planning on making some great stuff for the shop (it really needs to be updated).

One thing I really want to work on is organizing my fashion show kits– I need a hefty suitcase to carry things such as a steamer, my camera/recording equipment, etc. I’ve been really tempted to get a Fravel— not only is it cute, but it matches a lot of my designs! You can pre-order these cute travel suitcases here.

New Year, New Opportunities

Hello, everyone!

I started off 2017 with a new experience as the designer for PGF– I had the opportunity to do color commentary for a fashion show! Geek Fashion Show invited me to SacAnime Winter 2017 to work alongside Sean Long and the DJ DaRealWordSound. I documented this experience via SnapChat (pixiegiftfshns) and Instagram (pixiegiftfashions). You can see the highlights below the cut!

Last MONTH’s Fashion Show

I should really post here more often! In case you don’t follow me via Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/pixiegiftfashions/), I recently participated in a small fashion show at my alma mater for their Japanese Culture Festival (Japan Day).

I showed new and old looks, and had the opportunity to begin trying out fashion photography with actual models (rather than trying to shoot myself with a tripod and with the camera on its timer)! Also, I am still learning Photoshop and tried my hand at editing the photos. Come take a look below!

It was a small show, with three designers who showcased=– including me. Not that that is a bad thing– I actually had a great first fashion show for 2016! My models were amazing and Shelby Rose (https://shelbyrosestylist.wordpress.com/about/) once again did amazing work with the hair! Federico Beauty Institute (http://federico.edu/) stepped up to the plate and did the rainbow-inspired makeup :].

The PGF team did a fantastic job showing the Gyaru/Gyaru-Hime looks that I was able to put together for the event!

Rainy Day

The one time I finally get to shoot and I can’t even do it outside because of the rain…

But I love the rain!  So I can’t be too disappointed about the weather!  And I really liked how these shots came out despite being stuck indoors with a regular house lamp, a window curtain and my camera self-timer and tripod.

I made this dress about two years ago for my first fashion show ever– it has a twin sister dress!  The sweater is the Paris Cafe Cardigan in Bordeaux from my favorite affiliate (the link to the cardigan is an affiliate link; just FYI) while the cap with kitty ears is from a vendor from Amazon.  This look is very warm and cute– I’ll have to wear it to my new job sometime!  If you all like this style of dress, let me know; I can make some for the shop for all of you!

Pastel Wig

I wanted to shoot a headband I made and do just headshots for this post because…

a) my fashion-related talents are not just limited to sewing,

b) my wig collection is so big that it would be a shame not to showcase it, and

c) it gives me to opportunity to get back into the habit of using makeup as a form of self-empowerment.

This headband is one I made for my pair of lavender looks for Sacramento Fashion Week last year (fourth picture above).  I think making matching accessories to my garments really helps drive the overall message of a ‘look’ home.  It was one of the only headpieces I have that matches my most outrageous wig– this Rainbow Rock in Spring Bouquet by RockStar Wigs!  The wig was purchased about four years ago because I needed a wig in a raspberry pink in order to match an EGL ensemble.  I now want to use this wig in more shoots and fashion shows!

The wig is paired with Rock-a-Lash’s Lashing Out Loud (top lashes only).  My face is covered with foundation, hot pink and purple eyeshadow, purple eyeliner, black Wet-N-Wild liquid eyeliner, mascara, pinky blush, and a raspberry pink lipstick to match the pink in the wig.

I plan on making new headpieces soon for the shop– they will all probability be anywhere from $8 – $35 depending on how elaborate they are.  The whole shop is going to be revamped, so stay tuned to see what I will (literally) have in store for you all!

For those who still need their hands on some pastels or fashions with a butterfly motif, I’ve picked out a few items for you to view!  Enjoy~
